Thinking Of Taking A Vacation To Maui?
The day has finally come when it’s time for a Maui vacation. That’s surely a good thing, and it doesn’t need to be a stressful operation if things are taken logically and with a bit of common sense. Just take a bit of time to do some Internet research, for starters. And then be open to exploring the attractiveness of Maui and the native Hawaiian culture on the island.
Maui has always been a popular vacation destination for a lot of people. Newlyweds have been an important part of the tourist base for years. And the idea of strolling on a tropical beach under the evening moon has certainly proven to be a powerful lure. At present, the most active spots on Maui for tourism are the Lahaina/Ka’anapali areas, to the west of the airport, down Highway 30. Maui has a number of very nice resorts and beaches, too.
Air travel still remains the most convenient method for getting to Maui, which is fine. Until just the last half-decade or so, most tourists had to first fly into Oahu’s main airport and then hop on an interisland air carrier to Maui’s airport at Kahalui. That’s all changed, and there are plenty of flights that go right from the mainland of the U.S. directly to the island, without need of a stopover on Oahu.
After arriving in Kahalui, most tourists have their choice of a number of destinations on the island. Keep in mind that there’s some bit of distance between a few of them. For instance, Hana and Lahaina or Ka’anapali are a ways away from each other, and are only accessible to each other on two-lane highways, for the most part, which run on the coastline of the island. As a bit of advice, people should keep to the main roads until they have some familiarity with the local terrain.
A Maui vacation can be a wonderful thing to behold. Ka’anapali, Lahaina, and Hana are just three of the fantastic destinations which should be explored once on the island. And everybody should take the time to go up to Haleakala, which starts on the coast and winds its way up to the summit. It is one of several of the state’s volcanoes, and shouldn’t be missed.
